You cannot create custom ringtones. All you can do is purchase somewhat cheesy ringtones off their website for additional money.If you have custom ringtones on your cell phone, and you'd like to have them at home, KEEP LOOKING.The early promotional literature mentioned that you could customize your ringtone, but they must have removed that option so you HAVE to spend more money with them.Also, look at all the positive feedback. They all seem to be located in the same city as the company.
It is a GREAT idea, but if it inoperative and there is no phone tech support, you would be better off to buy a telephone with built in ring tones. As of today, I emailed the company to ask for a tech support TELEPHONE NUMBER.
I emailed SUPPORT because there was NOT a phone number listed anywhere on the website. The Ringboxx worked perfectly for about 4 to 5 months, then it stopped working.
It powers-up with the correct lights burning, but when the phone rings, it does not play anything. I have played email tag with one of the support people for weeks, and still have not received any answers on how to fix it.
Being somewhat of a computer geek, I tried everything logical to do to make it work, but it does not. The warrenty is for 90 days, so I'm out of the money.
"If" I hear from tech support, I will make another post and add a few more stars.
Our kids have had fun putting their favorite tunes with their friend's calls. Our family has loved having custom songs for each caller to our home phone. It's a great product that has worked without a flaw. It is very useful knowing who is calling before you get up to go to the phone. We set a specific tune for any caller that we don't know, which is an easy way to screen unwanted solicitations. I highly recommend the product. You will love the extra flare it brings to all your incoming calls.
Plus, we chose ringtones that match each person's personality so it's fun to get calls and hear the phone ring. Easy to set up and use and the on-line ringtone store that comes with the product gives you access to a wide selection of good ringtones that are reasonably priced. We assigned unique ringtones to all the people who call us the most and now we know who is calling without having to drop what we are doing and go over to look at the caller ID on the phone. Great product. Lots of fun.
The Ringboxx is fun, it's convenient and affordable. Having customized ringtones for friends, family members, unwanted "800" callers allows me the freedom to decide whether or not I need to stop what I'm doing and take that call.
Considering that our cell phone ringtones cost between $3-$5 to purchase, we find the price of HPT's ringtones to be reasonable. In addition, the fact that record company manufacturers don't allow transfer of downloads is probably what prevents the company from offering them outside of their library which by the way, seems very extensive to us.
We purchased this product strictly as a home entertainment device and have not been disappointed. If you are a stay-at-home mom or someone working from the home, the Ringboxx is a fantastic time saving device.
Yeah, it would be great to be able to dowload the ringtones from your cell phone to the Ringboxx but then you would incur a tranfer fee from your cell phone company. All in all, we love the utility of the product.
Not to mention, the ringtones are so much more entertaining than the standard phone ringtones. Your kids will love it, too.
